The 90th anniversary of the discovery of insulin is being celebrated in the region this week.
The annual Canadian Diabetes Association Diabetes Expo is taking place in Thunder Bay and Fort Frances, and the centrepiece is a keynote address by Grant Maltman about insulin?s discovery, and diabetes management.
?It?s 90 years later,? Maltman said Tuesday in Thunder Bay.
?We have better insulin. What we don?t have is anything better than insulin, and so management is the key thing for somebody affected by diabetes today.
