I will read this later with interest as over the years numerous claims have been made about CoQ10 most of which appear to he unfounded.

Years ago I was started on Simvastatin. These caused muscle aches particularly in the shoulder area. Someone who spent a small fortune in Holland and Barrett each month recommended CoQ10. It did absolutely nothing despite being quite expensive. A change to Atorvastatin cured the problem. I noticed no effect on my BGs but then I didn't notice any change when I started statins. However,, I am Type I and not Type II.

Q10 was recommended to me by my dentist, in that it could help prevent further gum disease, I researched it and found it is also recommended for people who have or are at risk of heart disease so sounds a pretty good all-rounder. It's good that a prestigious publication such as The Lancet is backing it. 🙂
