Hiya,
I just discovered this american website which may interest some people. It is called iPump and it is run by a lady in the US who is donated used pumps that are restored and recertified and she distributes then to adults and children who cannot afford them (often where insurrance policies dont cover them). The lady has Type 2 diabetes and 2 children, onw ith type 1 and another with MODY and renal failure. Sounds as if they have virtually bancrupted themselves in the process....
I was asked only yesterday what would happen to my pump if/when it was returned to the company, so I wonder if there is a UK equiv? (Prob not...). Interestingly I read an article pretty much damming medtronic and she is no longer accepting medtronic pumps (or Cozmo but I think thats becuase they are now discontinued).
It was an interesting read for me, if you do have a squizz I would be intrigued to know what your thoughts are! http://ipump.org/
