Why do I always feel so damned nervous going to the pump clinic! A feeling of having done something wrong; similar to when a police car follows you and you're totally innocent but you still feel guilty! Arghhh. My husband and I always have a little wager on my HBA1c - I've gone 7.2 and he's gone for a stunning 6.8!! Whoever's furthest buys the coffee. Nice to inject (excuse the pun) some excitement into diabetes whenever possible 🙂

You're not the only one that feels nervous going to a check-up. It's like being sent to the headmaster for messing around in assembly...I like the way you try and make it fun tho with a wager.
Good luck!🙂

Good Luck Riri, you will be fine nothing to worry about honestly. ( Say's she who doesn't attend a clinic):D

Good luck Riri! I'll guess 6.7%! 🙂 It's the fear of the unknown, I think, knowing that you can't prepare fully for what you might be told because you don't know what they are going to say. As long as you are doing your best (and recognising that you are human, and therefore not perfect!) you will be fine! 🙂

Hope your appointment goes well, and that you get good advice/support for any questions or concerns you have.

And good luck with the A1c too. I hope you get one that you are pleased with. Northie does seem to have a knack of guessing these right!

Well well well. Amazing result of 6.5 and the best in many a year 🙂 . I'm unbelievably chuffed and thanks all for the good charma posts! I bought the coffee but I tried to wiggle out of it as my consultant called me their star pupil today and for that reason hubby should pay for it. Didn't work. I was given my other results as well, lipids, liver etc and she said they were all fine. I have had a look at them but they don't mean much tbh. Looks like cholesterol ok at 4.6 though - think I may have to look up the others. Well chuffed today.🙂🙂🙂

Fantastic Riri! You should be well pleased. Your chol splits look in really good shape too. Plenty of HDL and hardly any trigs (which are likely to indicate the amount of VLDL - the nasty LDL particles).

It gets better - thanks Mike. Feel on top of the world - silly I know but after the hard work and effort I try to put in, and we all know it doesn't go according to plan all the time, it feels worth it today.

Excellent! 🙂 You get a nice comprehensive readout of your results, far better than anything I get - I only get told the numbers I remember to ask for!

Well done. That's amazing! :D

Congrats, Riri. All your own hard work. Good try to get hubby to buy coffee, but fair's fair in betting, love and war!

Well done Riri. Perhaps hubby will buy some Champaign as you bought the coffee? :D

Like the replies 🙂 He's just booked a valentines meal next week with a champagne cocktail on arrival so he's redeemed himself......in the nick of time!

I don't go to a pump clinic so at least I don't have to get stressed about it. I just got given the pump and left to get on with it. I didn't like that at first but am happy with it now. I can call the pump rep at any time and she's great. My hba1c is done at gp surgery and a couple of weeks ago was 6.5, a bit better than the pre pump 6.7.
Well done with your result Riri. 🙂

That's great Maryanne. I'm a bit in reverse on the GP side of things. Stopped going to hosp and just saw GP for a while and my control went out of the window. Think it was to do with the fact that they never could keep the specialist diabetic nurses and my GP is lovely but a bit 'laid back'. He thinks that a HBA1c of 8.5 is fine and whilst it's not horrendous he never encouraged me to try and lower it. The hosp staff do!!

Riri, I am always nervous going to pump clinic and check up clinic. I always think I will have my pump taken off me. I really don't know why as consultant and d nurses are always pleased with me.

Congratulations on such a great result🙂

Yesssss, congrats to you!! It's hard work and means so much when your results reflect it! Well done 🙂
