Relationship to Diabetes

For various reasons this year is very difficult for me and I feel in need of psychological support. I feel there are a lot of issues to do with my diabetes which I need help with. But I am not sure where to look. I have never been offered any psychological support in 16 years of diabetes which I feel is poor. I would like a psychologist/counsellor who has experience with diabetes, otherwise they won't understand. I feel there should be one attached to the diabetic clinic, but I don't think there is.

Does anyone have any experience or advice?

Yep in the NICE guidelines you are entitled to see a psychologist and the hospital have to provide one !! Take a look at the guidelines.

Where abouts would you find that?

Ok thanks Adrienne. I will mention it at my appointment with the DSN next Friday.
