A US analysis of UK medical records shows patients with mild, moderate and severe psoriasis have increasingly higher odds of having at least one other major medical disease.
Researchers from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, concluded that increasing severity of disease, measured by the percentage of the body affected by psoriasis, was progressively associated with higher rates of other diseases including chronic pulmonary disease, diabetes, mild liver disease and heart attacks.
