I have just had it confirmed that I have protein in my urine & not an infection. I have to put in another sample but the nurse seems to think doc will put me on meds.
What does this mean & what form of medication is likely, has anyone any info on this.
Every other result has been good so this is a bit of a blow.

The usual treatment is to protect the kidneys through ACE Inhibitors ( e.g. ramipril or lisinopril) or ARBs.

Not uncommon for T2s, a few years in, to be on a battery of pills for cholesterol, blood pressure, kidneys, blood glucose etc since any emanation of these have to be treated aggressively in T2s.

On the other hand really good control can also help.

I've had protein in my urine twice, both times had to take in further samples etc but both times has cleared itself. Hope yours clears itself too.

Thanks all. I'm hoping to get a call back from doc on Friday so should know more then. Fingers crossed.

I was given Ramipril for same thing...Protein In Urine. I find the Ramipril fine, no side affects, they said that nthe Ramipril would help Protect my Kidneys from further Damage.

Hope all goes well for you 🙂

Good news! After yet another urine test, doc has decided high protein was just a blip & no further meds required. Really happy today, was quite worried about it 🙂
