Hi there,
I was diagnosed as pre diabetic as a 28 year old 34 years ago but was diagnosed type 2 5 years ago. After being on and off Metformin with horrible side effects over 2 years my GP tried me on linglipton which caused exreme confusion, blurred vision, headaches and dizziness. I am now on empagniflozin and my BS is now between 6 and 12 (it was anything from 14 - 20 before) and my lIver levels (sorry can't remember the abbreviation) have dropped from 79 down to 64. The clinic has now put me on another glipton as they say it's not coming down fast enough, Aloglipton, which I started taking on Friday. Since I took the second dose on Saturday I have been terribly unwell with a blinding headache, terrible pain in my joints and muscles, profuse sweating and blurred vision. This has been so bad that I haven't been able to go to work. I feel as if I have a really bad flu but without other flu symptoms like sore throat, runny nose etc. Can anyone advise if these symptoms could be a side effect of the new drug?
