Hi All

I just want to check whether anyone has experienced anything like this before or not.
I woke up this morning and my eyes were very strange, the only way i can describe it was though i had millions on cameras going off at the same time for about an hour and thinks looking abit shaky. I first thought it was because i was waking up from a dark room so I started to look at my phone to focus on light but no change. Ive come downstairs and its the same and ive been down for 40mins and my eyes have fully adjusted to the light but still feel like loads of cameras have gone off in front of them.
Its such a weird sensation and hard to explain.
I know it may not be diabetes related at all but I thought i might try and rule it out esp since I just got a letter back saying changes have been detected in my eyes and they want to re-do the pictures in 3 months

Not sure whats going on? anyone else had the smae or similar? :(

Thanks Everyone x

I've had the flashing light thing on waking but usually it disappears after a few seconds, given the recent changes in your eyes I would get them examined just to be safe.

I can't help you with the problem of flashing lights, but one thing is almost certain, if the changes detected on your eye screening were serious or anything to worry about, they would have sent you an appointment to get it checked, and not wait another 3 months to take pictures again.

Hope the camera lights flashing soon stops for you, only thing I can suggest for it is to strike a good pose 🙂

John.

I take it you don't have a headache and it couldn't be the start of a migraine?

Hi Emma. Are you still having the problem? If yes please go straight to eye casualty so they can check it out for you. They are usually based in a general hospital but may only be open until 12 on a Saturday. It's best to get it checked by a professional although your eyes are hopefully ok. Please let us know how you get on

Hubby and grown up son (not diabetic) get this sometimes and have been told it is a form of migrain. The advice given to them was take a couple of paracetemol when it starts to stop a full blown migrain devloping, rest if possible and drink plenty of caaffine free fluids. If it persists seek medical help just in case it is something else.
