Royal Berkshire Hospital’s paediatric diabetes specialist nurses have been nominated for a Pride of Reading award.
The team of three full-time nurses, a dietician plus support from the hospital play specialists, work tirelessly to support children diagnosed with the lifelong condition.
They are currently working with 244 children aged from newborn to 19.
The team was nominated by Vicki Widdis, of Reading Road, whose son Thomas, 15, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes five years ago.
