Good afternoon, today as my last few weeks of self-testing had been OK 5-6ish I decided to push the boat out and as well as the porridge for breakie (I knew that would raise the levels) I had other stuff ie plain yogurt with half an orange and some blueberries, boursin cheese on crackers (x 3), and the really naughty bit 1/2 a Naked Bakewell tart bar. Normally I would have less but I thought I would see what damage it could do. Waited and tested, ahhhhhhhh, 10.9. That will teach me. But in the spirit of experimental science I just wanted to see.I saw and that's it really.

Sounds to me like this was a worthwhile experiment, now you know what happens you will be unlikely to do it again I guess......job well done! Thanks for sharing 🙂

Thank you for your response and I suspect I won't do it again. As part of me being my own science experiment I spent much of the day thinking about the spike. Prepared a simple low carb supper - cod, veg, salad, lentils etc but the plain yogurt with fruit for dessert. Waited the recommended time and self-tested and hey back to 5.5. The supper was ok too!

That's great Sharron. I am still learning, find that porridge works for me. Just a small bowl, it's sometimes the only thing I can eat early in the morning. Actually it's Asda's own make and is a bit like Ready Brek.
My lowest reading so far has been 6.

Porridge is the problem, but as I have been told to keep with it due to the slow releasing properties, I will do as I am told and stick with it. Good luck but as everyone has said it is a continual process, learning all the time.
