Been on the 'regime' for two weeks now.
Seems to be going ok I guess.
What does confuse me is the prick and test bit.
My diabetic nurse told me to test 'pre-meal' which I'm doing.
I understand its a measurement 'of the time' so each time can have a different result.
BUT
Started on day 1 with a test result of 17
Day two I had a reading of 19 for brekky 20 for dinner (brekky is usually about 07:00 dinner about 17:00 (5pm))
Then it started to go down 16, 14, up to 15 for brekky 11 for dinner
Then two days of 13.?? then next day 12 till I hit 10 pre dinner
Then two days of high 13 low 14
Why does it fluxuate so.
Yes I realise its a reading taken and only good for that moment in time.
Its not food cos I haven't eaten for at least for/five hours.
Is it what I have done between meals?
The body doesn't make sugar does it .
Must be food I have eaten the meal before I guess.
Have I answered my own question duhhhhhhh
Sorry folks

;:00dinner in our house is about 5 0'clock (17:00)
Then it started to come down 16 one day then 15 for brekky 11 for dinner

Yes, when we're fasting the liver will generate blood sugar from its internal stores when there is none available (And it will generate ketones from fat to fuel muscles.) from food. It keeps a trickle going during the night. A lot of T2s have issues here as the 'signalling' to tell the liver to stop (As levels are adequate) does not work.
