Hello, I've come on the website to get some information on preventing diabetes and losing weight. My husband eats meat and I am vegan.
It'll be good to meet people and hear their stories.

Welcome to the forum
There are people here who are at various stages in terms of diabetes from those who are well into the diabetes zone at diagnosis to those who have been diagnosed 'at risk' or prediabetes or those through hard work have put their diabetes in remission, this of course relates to those who are or at risk of Type 2. Type 1 is a totally different condition.
If people feel they are at risk or who have symptoms would usually get an HbA1C test which will tell them where they are and what action need to be taken. A result of below 42mmol/mol would be normal, between 42 and 47mmol/mol prediabetes and over 47mmol/mol would give a diabetes diagnosis.
If in the normal range then a normal healthy diet should be suitable but if you are creeping into that prediabetes zone then reducing carbohydrates in your diet is a good way to lose weight and reduce blood glucose. Being vegan means you are not eating the foods which many turn to in terms of meat, fish, eggs and cheese as they are all low carb foods but it is still possible to have a vegan diet and lose weight, it may need a bit more thought and work to keep an eye on the carbohydrate content of your meals.
Unless you have actually been diagnosed as either diabetic or at risk then some modest changes are likely to be sufficient.
I post this link as you may find the principals of that approach useful rather than the meal plans as such, it is a low carb way. https://lowcarbfreshwell.com/
Do you have anyone in your close family who lives with diabetes? Or have you been told you are at risk of developing diabetes? (sometimes referred to as prediabetes, though that is not an officially recognised diagnosis).
We have a number of veggies and vegans on the forum for you to compare notes with. I live in a largely veggie/vegan household, and it’s easier to make just the one meal, so mostly we seem to have settled on vegan-with-occasional-cheese-or-egg. 😛
Though one in the house is back on Veganuary, so evening meals are fully vegan again!
