This might not be new for some, but today when i went to pick up my strips, I noticed the layout out of my script had changed, it not only now tells me the items i have but when they were last issued when the item is next due to be issued and how many issues of items I have left, has anyone elses presciption changed or is my area behind and this is old news?

P.s my next meds review is due on the 6th Oct 2012 which is a Saturday my surgery must have news opening times now 🙄

I did have to ask Hubby this one, because he normally puts our prescription order into the chemist, I normally drive and he pops into pick up the prescriptions.😱 But also he's a supervisor in a care home, so used to dealing with other prescriptions from the different surgeries in town..

Ours, have for a long time, named your med when you last ordered it and how many on repeat you've got left.. But not the next due or review date..

But most of the other surgeries in town have the full info printed on it...

Mine has next review date how many you can have on order and when last ordered.
It has been like that for years. 🙂

Do you mean the prescription form (used by chemist to dispense items) or the repeat prescription form (that you take away and tick next time)? My repeat prescription form has had a review date and details of dates when I last requested each item for as long as I can remember. I've never been called in to discuss items, so I assume review is done by a GP looking at records - and that they have no concerns about what I'm requesting.

My prescription tells me whan I last orderd and how many I can re order and when I have orderd the last one reminds me I need a meds review.

Just had a look and it list's the items how many and the last three order dates no sign of review date it been like that here for ages

Mine shows item, last 2 dates ordered, whether it's As Directed, etc and any review date at the top somewhere.

I never actually take notice of the review dates but the last ordered dates are useful so I know when I can get away with my next order.🙄

I suspect it depends on the particular software the PCT uses and how they set it up.

K's is just a list of meds and a box to tick if you want them Nothing about how many you can have or have had. Does say review date and always has since she has been having repeats (18 months) but we have never had a 'review' - have always assumed this was because the review was taking place at clinic - didn't realise til reAd on here the otherday that pharmacists can review:confused:

Don't know if repeat scripts different for kids than adults as hubby and I lucky enough not to have them.

Have just noticed it still says allow 2 working days on scrip but we had a note put in last time to allow 5 - may have been a staffing/ Xmas thing....

Ours have been 2-part since I moved here in 1998, can't remember before.

The 'Repeat' bit is half of the form and tears off, if the scrip goes direct to the pharmacy they rip it off and put it in the bag, if I hand it in, I rip it off. If I have a 'one-off' scrip for summat not on repeat, the RHS is blank, so you/they rip off and throw away if the doc hasn't when he handed it to you.

Ring by 11.00 am to order repeat for same day dispensing (ready after 16.30) they ask Do you use our pharmacy and if Yes, scrip goes direct to pharmacy after signature by whoever is doing them that day, otherwise collect it from reception to take to pharmacy of choice. Also says Queries take 72 hours to process. I've only ever had one query when I swapped meters this year when I got my pump and they decided to ignore the fact I had 150 strips at a time before, and only wrote up 50 at a time on the repeat ! - however my doc was actually in reception at the exact moment I went to tell them, so he sorted it there and then. Nipped off to his own puter to change it and came back 2 mins later with the right one.

11 items on mine! eg

Levothyroxine tabs 25 micrograms (28) tablet(s)
Last ordered on 21/09/2011. You may order 2 more.
Previous order dates: 05/09/2011

No boxes to tick.

I don't have diabetes meds but had to order my medication early as I mistakenly must have left x2 tablets in the blister pack. Dad went to collect the script and he was told they couldn't print it until after 16.00hrs and he must makes sure I had none left for that night otherwise he couldn't get it until the next day!!

Some of them can be very anal. My first repeat of ramipril when I moved was met with the same story. But subsequent orders have been ok a week early, etc.

They obviously needed to trust me with a few before I got the 'local' treatment :D

I'm going to test them before christmas with my 'up-front' order so I don't have to rush out before new year's eve.

Mine has last ordered date and when a full review is required. That sometimes says overdue but rectifies itself after a clinic appointment.

My FILs has when last ordered and how many times more he can request it before it is reviewed. They often add comments to the bottom of his such as book a flu vaccination.

The differences will be down to the software the practice is using. Within the same PCT different practices can use different software.

The one thing that isn't on mine is my NHS number - is it on anyone else's?

The reason why I ask, I had to put it on a form (for something to do with NHS) the other day and the form helpfully said 'You will find this on the top of any prescriptions' LOL

As you usually only have a prescription in your hand for a very short time, if at all, it may not be particularly helpful advice. I only see mine when signing it when collecting prescribed items from chemist.

But I haven't seen my NHS number on my repeat prescription form, which is what I have for several weeks before prescription "orders".

Mine has patient ID but no NHS number.
It also states if you are ordering before due date please state the reason why.
(Fair enough)

But your doctor wouldn't have your NI number, only you patient/hospital reference number.. Don't forget your are issued with a NI number until you are 16 years old!

And I've never given my NI number over to my doctors...

NHS and NI are entirely different Ellie 🙂

Your NI number is different to your NHS number. Mine isn't on either. Would imagine your NHS card (the one you register at your GP's with) would be the only place.
