Hi I have a first appointment with the nurse tomorrow, Weds. What should I prepare or should ask?

Not sure how long you will given. But i put a list of questions together in order not to get side tracked with other issues. I was given 10 mins, and had 5 questions.

Assuming this is a first appointment after a t2 diagnosis

What were my blood test results (hba1c or 3 month average, and get the number)

Do I need to do anything to arrange any other checks (eg eye check or foot check) or has this been arranged

Can I test my blood sugars at home to see if changes to my diet are working?

when will I next have a checkup to review how things are going?

As you’ve had unexplained weight loss @Jenny105 I’d ask if there’s any possibility you could be Type 1, as I mentioned on your other thread. Type 1 comes on more slowly in older adults and Type1 can be diagnosed at any age despite what some believe.

I’d also ask for all the numbers from your blood tests, and ask about the Vit B issue and if further investigation is needed.

Great list of questions above. I'd also ask about the treatment plan and what you should expect in the next 12 months.

Given that there questions around your actual diagnosis, it might be helpful to know whether further test are possible or maybe you could keep a little diary of your concerns to see whether they feel they're typical.

Great replies.. I have another Vit B test next week . what is odd - to me- is that apart from the weight loss the other 3 symptoms came and went in one week end. But the test shows 98 .
