Type 2
hi guys
I'm type 2 and diet only controled and have a nasty chest infection, the doctor has prescribed me 40mg of prednisolone for one week, I've heard that they can play havoc with diabetes so just wondered if anyone else had experience of taking these.
Thank you in advance x

Hi, yes your blood sugars will go quite high whilst taking them so you need to be very careful with your diet whilst on them. Better to put up with the high numbers and clear the chest infection though.

Yes, as a type 2 you pretty much have to sit it out. Shouldn't be a major problem, but as Sue says, careful with the diet and drink plenty of fluids.
