Hi LoopswebbHi everyone,
Just after some help really as I am very confused, doesn’t take much
I had gestational diabetes 6 years ago, picked up at 37 weeks. I have been pre diabetic since and had annual tests being 42/43. HbA1c being 46 just recently. Also at that point got a positive thyroid result which they can’t treat until I have a repeat at the end of the month, with it being my first positive result. GP says I don’t have diabetes.
Do diabetic symptoms and thyroid symptoms mirror each other, as I still don’t feel 100%. I also have coeliac disease and fibromyalgia.
Many thanks in advance
Lisa
Diabetes and hypothyroidism often happen together (they did with me and I have read that it is a common combination. The untreated thyroid symptoms of dizziness, tiredness, lethargy and feeling generally unwell will soon improve once you are started on levothyroxine, which needs to be checked regularly to get you on the right dose but it will make you feel much better almost immediately.
I am assuming you are eating the correct diet to counter the coeliac disease and I know next to nothing about fibromyalgia, but can only say hang on in there, once you get the thyroid sorted out you will have more energy to deal with the other conditions and take your diet and exercise on which will help all of your conditions. Look after yourself x
