Sorry to hear that, Christine. In what way has it got worse?

Oh dear, in what way did you change your diet, many are under the misapprehension that it is only sugar and sugary things that need to be reduced whereas it is all carbohydrates which convert to glucose so foods like potatoes, rice, pasta, bread need to be reduced.
How much has your HbA1C gone up?

Yeah I eat alot of cards

It was 43 now it's 46
That is not too disastrous and means you have not crossed that threshold into the diabetes zone, however it is a bit of a wake up call that you need to be reducing your carb intake. Many find that by doing that they can pull things back before it is too late.
Have a look at this link which has some good explanation and may highlight where you have been going wrong, there are some do's and don'ts and some meal ideas which may offer you a way forward. https://lowcarbfreshwell.com/
Low carb does not mean NO carbs but it is suggested that no more than 130g carb (not just sugar) per day is a good starting point.
Keeping a food diary of everything you eat and drink with an estimate of the carbs will help you see where some savings could be made to bring you down to the 130g per day.

I can see you have made a good start, having some scales on your work top so you can weigh your portions is a good idea as it is easy to underestimate.
I found the book Carbs and Cals (there are various apps as well that people use) really useful as it gives carb values for various portion sizes of a whole range of foods and meals, so I found it valuable for making decisions whether to have X grams of one food or 2X grams of something else for the same amount of carbs. I make the carbs I have worth it for flavour and enjoyment rather than empty carbs.

Welcome to the forum @christine626

Sorry to hear your HbA1c has risen a little. Great to hear you have been keeping a food diary and trying to spot where you might be able to make some BG-friendly tweaks.

If you decide to give a lower carbohydrate eating plan a go, you might fine some ideas and suggestions here:

or perhaps a Mediterranean approach, which is also popular

Sometimes it’s just a matter of changing the proportion of elements in meals, and keeping a limit on portion sizes. Having more of the tasty parts of the dish and less of the beige stodge 🙂
