Hi everyone.
My name is Ann and I recently found out I was pre diabetic and raised cholesterol new to all this so any advice and tips would be greatly appreciate.
Welcome to the forum
Prediabetes diagnosis is given when your HbA1C is between 42 and 47mmol/mol so depending where you are in that range will indicate how much work you will need to do to take things in hand to bring down your blood glucose level.
Usually some modest changes will be sufficient to make a difference. The foods which convert to glucose are all carbohydrates but the big hitters are bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, breakfast cereals, pastry, tropical fruits as well as the more obvious cakes, biscuits and sugary drinks so reducing your portion size of those foods and basing meals on meat, fish, eggs, cheese, dairy and plenty of vegetables and salads and fruits like berries would be a good start.
You mention high cholesterol but many people find that by reducing carbs their cholesterol goes down also even though they may be eating more healthy fats.
This link is a low carb approach which you may find gives you some ideas for a way forward with some dietary changes.

Getting more exercise if you can will also help.
There is no need to panic but it is a wake up call to make some lifestyle changes.
