hello all, I am new to the support group and am on line for my sister, who was diagnosed about 6 years ago woth type 2. She is managing her diabetes well after the intial shock at her diagnosis. She suffers from depression and anxiety as well as the diabetes. She has recently been told she has a high potassium level, and that has upset her as it seems to mean she must cut some healthy food from her diet. She mentions tomatoes, and brocolli cauliflower, cabbage, and cucumber. She is taking blood pressure tablets which are coated in potassium,( Losartan,) 50mg.Her potassium level is 5- 4, and has been at 5-7. We would be so grateful if anyone could advise her as to how she can enjoy her beloved vegetables and still keep this potassium level in check. Many thanks, Julie kirkham

thankyou to anyone who replied to my potassium query, I would be grateful for any further input, and will pass on comments to my sister

Would she benefit from a chat with the dietician? It will help her keep the halthy diet while cutting down the potassium. Good luck

This is the information I was given because my potassium levels were a tad high, and I was also on Lisinopril BP medication, which can elevates levels further.................
