Posting something positive for me 54th Diaversary in a fortnight

April 20th will be the official 54th Diaversary of my Type 1 diabetes diagnosis when I was two years old. There’s been downs but also lots of ups.
On the Diaversary we will celebrate with a Chinese “fakeaway” and watching the latest Bridget Jones film. There will also be some recycled presents for me which I think is exciting. We are on a very tight budget but, even with my vow to reduce alcohol, I may be tempted to open a bottle of bubbly. I’m really excited about this Diaversary - showing that despite all of my health problems I’m still here and making the most of what I can do.

That is absolutely amazing!!!

My 10 year old was diagnosed end of Jan this year and its been a swift learning curve. Ive struggled a lot but my wife has been amazing. Whats helped is knowing someone who is in there 50s with their experience and ups and downs just giving advice but also saying “it will be ok”….We certainly know fwr more now even than when she was diagnosed. So when I read your post that really does help and made me smile!

Happy Diaversary!!! and hope you have an amazing day!

Glad to hear that you can still focus on something positive after all the recent health issues. Wishing you a very Happy Diaversary on Easter Sunday. You must have seen a lot of changes in diabetes treatment in the last 54 years although you were just a young child when diagnosed.
I will also be celebrating on the 20th. Hubby officially reaches pension age, and has been living relatively well with his severe paroxysmal AF for 10 years. As yet there is no permanent cure. We learn to celebrate the victories we can.
Wishing you and Mark all the best.<3
