Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hey everyone, I got out of hospital last night due to DKA and been throwing up every meal I have. Both my blood sugars and ketones are normal range but been really sick. What should I do? Should I contact my diabetes nurse?

Yes I would. I don't have much science behind it, other than knowing my body was a mess post dka so would call in to check with the experts just in case

Welcome @Sophiibeth Yes, definitely phone your nurse. Vomiting is areal nuisance with Type 1 at the best of times, but when you’ve just had DKA it needs some attention to make sure you’re ok. If in any doubt, or if you can’t get hold of your nurse, phone 111 or, if you become worse, go to A and E.

I hope you feel better soon.

Gosh @Sophiibeth what a tough time you are having.

Yes do get in contact with your nurse.

Is the vomiting a stomach bug do you think? Have you been given ‘sick day rules’ for T1?

Keep a close eye on your levels, and hope you get well soon!
