Hi, I'm just waiting for a scan for suspected gallbladder pain. I've had 2 blood tests one week apart which both show raised white blood cells. My abdominal pain is in the top right section under my ribs and started as daily severe pain with a mild temperature about a month ago. Pain came on after eating and sometimes during the night. Pain has settled a bit - just varies in intensity now. Mostly feeling it like a dull ache under my right ribs but sometimes feel pain in my shoulders, chest and back. Anyone experienced similar? Obviously need to be patient waiting on scan but can't stop worrying about it.

Sorry to hear your gallbladder is giving you problems. Hopefully the scan results will provide some answers and guide speedy and effective treatment.

Have they suggested a timeline for the scan and followup?
 
My sister had similar issues / symptoms to what you describe and after a long time of working out it was caused by spasms in the sphincter of oddi - it’s not common and maybe worth mentioning to Dr. Good luck
