Hello little fawn,
I used bovine insulin for 52 years but had to change over to Fiasp due to bovine not being available anymore.
If I wasn't allergic to porcine insulin I would have used that instead.
Also a wow at 60 years on insulin, well done you. 🙂 I'm a novice at almost 55 years 🙂
Porcine here - Neutral with Isophane in the background. Over fifty years as well. Main issue CVD but runs in the family! These genes gave a lot to answer for but I did have great parents!
I remember urine tests, boiling syringes, sharpening needles, first BG meter at over £1000, being prescribed 50 test strips for 6 months... Those were the days...

I'm at 55 and a half years. Don't remember sharpening needles though. I'm sure there was a box of metallic needles that were put on the boiled syringes. No plastics until the early 70s.
Before BG meters, you had to get blood on a test strip and time it, then wipe it off. What a palaver.
And we had small kitchen scales to weigh potatoes, cereal etc.
