With help from dozens of young baseball players and a poodle named Peggy Sue, Hannah Speilman plans to return to Pequea Valley High School for the second half of her freshman year.
Peggy Sue is a diabetes alert service dog being trained to help Hannah live a more independent life.
On Oct. 11 and 12, twelve teams of baseball players will play in a tournament at Paradise Park that is also raising money to help.
The tournament, which includes 12-and-under and 10-and-under teams, is part of the fourth annual Danielle DeLarso Community Benefit, dubbed Paws of Friendship. In addition to baseball games, the event will include a dog show called Peggy Sue's Pageant as well as a chicken barbecue and a Chinese auction.
