I think I must be very lucky living in Lincs. as the NHS here is extremely good.
I saw the podiatrist today for my foot examination. After testing pulses etc. she cut and filed my nails and filed away alot of hard skin on my feet and heels. She recommends Flexitol for removal of hard skin. If this is applied once a day it works very well or so she says. I will try it for a while. What surprised me is that when I was leaving she said if I need any further help or if the skin hardens again, I should ring her up for an appointment. This is the NHS- not private. I was given an information sheet that tells you how to look after your feet if you are diabetic.🙂

Great news thelis - looks like you have hit on one of the good ones 🙂 My experiences have been similar (although they are a bit tardy with this year's appointment - need to chase them up!). Hope the flexitol works well for you! 🙂

Great news thelis the only attention i get for my feet is my annual check where my pulses are checked etc etc.

great stuff that you are being looked after, don't forget to ask your GP to prescribe the Flexitol - it works well but you will have to use it for evermore to keep the hard skin away. It may be better to put it on at night and wear socks in bed so it stays on your feet.
