I have the same breakfast every moring its my one treat of the day. Two rounds wholemeal toast with Marmite (lower salt) and a cup of coffee (sweetner) My waking levels are 4.6-5.4 But after breakfast they can rise to 9.0 after two hours. I know its not ment to rise this much. My question is this is this to much of a rise? rest of day my BG is in zone of 5-8. I tend to like going to bed on about 7-8.5 due to DP think my insulin needs reducing again as nurse says

Thanks @Satans little helper for putting my mind at rest

I would be happy with that 9.0 @gail2

Do you leave any gap between taking the dose and eating breakfast? A 5, 10, 20, or even slightly longer ‘prebolus’ can help reduce post-meal numbers, as long as you don’t risk going hypo (or forgetting what you were meant to be doing!)

Ah OK - in that case you are doing AMAZINGLY well @gail2

Is it the sort of breakfast that could wait until after the nurse has been?

It’s only long acting insulin so timing shouldn’t matter though?
