Doctors across West Lindsey will be told to grill patients about their lifestyles after a new report revealed the district is one of the most unhealthy places in the country.
GPs, along with school nurses and community workers, will be told to look out for bad habits and unhealthy lifestyles during their contact with the public.
It comes after a new document revealed the district is high on the list for medical problems ranging from childhood obesity to rates of cancer and heart disease.
The sea change in the approach to tackling serious health issues in the district is identified in a new 45-page report.
The draft health and wellbeing strategy 2012/15, which will affect every one of the district's 89,400 residents, has been drawn up by West Lindsey District Council.
