PIP for diabetics

The chance of someone with diabetes and nothing else getting PIP is zero. PIP is not awarded for any particular diagnosis. Indeed, your diagnoses are not asked for on the application form. It is entirely based on your mobility - that is, the distance you can walk, and whether you can cope with day to day living, or need help with any daily activity. That £627 figure per month represents the full rate for mobility, and full rate for daily living. The article does explain the criteria required for getting PIP, but does not explain why it is about diabetes.

I get PIP, but it's nothing to do with diabetes. I don't think the DWP even know I've got diabetes. I get full rate for mobility, and basic rate for daily living. My wife gets full rate for daily living and the basic rate for mobility.
