Haven't you got your old pens? I mean you'll need one for your Lantus/Levemir, won't you?

I'm just wondering here whether because control just isn't anywhere near as precise on MDI, whether you'd actually need a half unit pen for bolusing?

I've just looked on the BNF to see how much the Echo is. It isn't listed at all - the Junior is though and it's about the same prioce as a normal Novopen ie about ?25/?26 - whereas ISTR my DSN saying the Echo would be mega restricted to children once it came out - because it was over ?50.

The only way you could get a pen with a memory then was to change to Humalog and have the Memoir, but they've stopped that one, haven't they? It's a PITA, I know we do it 'quite often' anyway at any age, but as you get older, you do definitely forget more whether you've had your jab or not, even if you kid yourself your memory is just as good as it used to be!

TW, I believe a few of our members already have the Echo, so it seems the restrictions may have been relaxed a little if real necessity is shown 🙂

Yes i still have my old pens , i have the auto pen 24 for my lantus and that is fine as my basal rounds up to an even number lol , but i am quite sensitive to novo rapid and have 0.5 u to 10g carbs and i only have a 1 unit pen for that as i didn't know i was so sensitive to insulin till i started pumping , yes i realise they are difficult to get hold of that's why i thought maybe a novo pen junior as they also take a 3ml cartridge , i was looking and there is also a demi pen which is also 0.5 dosage , i don't really want it for the memory as i'm pretty good at doing it before i eat so i shouldn't mess up in that respect 🙂
