A PIONEERING venture that helps diabetes patients in Derby has won a national healthcare award.
Intercare Health, a partnership between Derby Hospitals and the city's GPs, topped the diabetes care category at the Patient Safety and Care Integration Awards.
Intercare Health is a new model of care in Derby, which allows diabetic patients to see specialist doctors, nurses, dieticians and other support teams all under one roof, without the need for repeat hospital visits.
