my insulin turned pink the other night at work, my mum has been insulin dependant for 8 years now, me for 3 months and i have never seen insulin do this. is it still safe to use

btw hi everyone, looking forward to chatting :D

I've never experienced this myself, sounds very bizarre! But I would say don't use it, I've been told if the insulin changes appearance don't risk using it, won't necessarily do you any harm but it may not work properly!

i know it was bizarre, dont know if it was going from cold to warm all the time lol, house is cold work is warm someone gave me a cooling pouch yesterday so will see if that helps, will ask the nurse next week when i go for yet another check up..:d

What brand of insulin is it? I would find out who the manufacturer is and call their helpline. Could it be that somehow you have hit a vein and mixed some blood with the insulin?

is your insulin normally clear or white? i would never use an insulin that is not the correct colour. heat can make the insulin go off quicker.
