In front of an audience of 8 Italians 😱I was microwaved on Monday morning🙂. Came home yesterday evening with a shopping trolley full of horse sized antibiotics - 6 weeks worth as I'm at high risk of developing an abscess (oh goody
)
Bit uncomfortable, but not painful. The wound is minute and has healed faster than the various cannula wounds.
Not having had a general anaesthetic since acquiring the big D I didn't know (and to be honest, hadn't thought about) what effect it would have. The answer for me is horrendously high bg. I gave myself a temporary basal rate of 200% (which still wasn't enough😱) of my normal along with much bigger boluses. Hopefully now I'm home and normality is returning I will get the numbers down. The hospital didn't seem in the least bothered by my numbers😱.
Hospital food... A nightmare for us carb counters. A Diabetes nurse gave me a list of carb contents for everything, when I asked. Breakfast was a really goody - cornflakes, rice krispies, porridge, bread, banana, yoghurt... Spot the low carb option🙄
Going to have an easy few days.
