Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi
Just been diagnosed, don,t have a clue about my change of diet properly yet,
waiting for nurses check up. (on thursday)
Bit worried cos i keep feeling ill.

One thing you will know from posting here, is that you're not alone. Welcome, check out the recommended books, there are some good ones, I know, I have them. There is a lot to take on board, just don't expect all the answers at once........this is a Marathon, not a sprint.

Thanks for your advice, I am pleased to have found this site as I haven't spoken to anyone about having diabetes since i was diagnosed.
What books are suggested? I'm trying to find out why i feel rough on and off during the day and how to combat this.

Hi Pikeking

Welcome to the forum

Hi and welcome. Ask all your questions here - no matter how silly they seem. We are all friends from across the world wide web. The range of emotions that you are feeling at the moment we have all had the same. As the song says 'you are not alone'.

A great book, I suggest, is 'The first year with Type Two Diabetes' by Gretchen Becker - I got mine on Amazon.

Hi sorry to hear things are bad at the moment for you , we have all been

there so dont worry , if you feel like having a moan carry on.

If you are still feeling poorly then i would just try and eat a sugar free, low fat

healthy balanced diet , try and avoid processed foods as these have quite a

lot of hidden sugar in them. You will start to feel better soon though so keep

thinking possitive , if you want to know anything then just ask , we are all

still learning everyday, but there are alot of people on the forum who will be able to

help, advise or answer any question you might have .🙂

As Ceara says.........'The first year with Type Two Diabetes' by Gretchen Becker ........I'm working my way through it now. I also invested in some Recipie books for Diabetics. Diet is the big thing.....I have lost 6 lbs in just under three weeks.
