Phase 2 trials of a once weekly basal for type 2's

I don't fancy being a T1 trialist one little bit. Over the years I've always found the shorter time a basal insulin hung round in my body, the better it has served my BG control. Whyever would I imagine the current 4-5 hours would be improved by extending that to 8 days?

After what I could read of it, it’s not for me. What happens when Basal requirements change , mine usually changes with the seasons and I have often needed to alter it when I am ill .
So, Thanks but no thanks .

Don't see how it would allow much fine-tuning - and I know I would be much more likely to forget it than twice daily.

I suppose it is intended to replace daily basal given to some T2s together with tablets, rather than the basal in basal/bolus.

Definitely not for me!

I presume so, yes. So it's for the kind of Type 2 person who might currently be taking insulatard or something, where precision isn't required: they just need some insulin to help their pancreas.

I dont think it's worth discussing this, because the body of the article is hidden behind a paywall, so no informed comment could possibly be made.

Mike,
Bruce provided a much better link that is more useable.

Thanks Amity, now I see it's just a drug company pushing a new product. I don't see an application for it in in T1, once it's in it's in. Would have been tricky this week -28 degrees heat down to 16. Easy to cope with on twice daily Levemir.
