I signed up for this as getting to pharmacy increasingly difficult. It takes abot three weeks to get meds, last month I ran out. Such a good idea has fallen flat on its face. Seems like its the same story all over UK.

Sorry to hear that Sherry,
have you contacted your local pharmacy to see if they do home deliveries? Would a neighbour be kind enough to collect for you?

Welcome to the forum sherryb. As Pumper Sue says, there may be other ways of getting your medications in a convenient way.

My local pharmacy warned patients not to sign up for pharmacy2u, a lot of people received leaflets through their doors about it and lots of people reported problems. It might be worth asking if any local pharmacies to you do home deliveries.

I live in the sticks, so dont really have anywhere local. Had email tis morning from Pharmacy to you saying they are waiting on GP when in fact meds have been delivered! First heard about them through email from Diabetes UK so very disapointed!

My pharmacy does home delivery for those who need it, perhaps see if a pharmacy in your locale provides the same service.

I put a repeat prescription in the Doctors on Monday lunchtime, I got an email from Pharmacy2U later the same day to say it was all in order.
I got an email on the Tuesday to say it had been sent by royal mail signed for service, arrived Wednesday.
It was just my fungal tablets, but it's the 1st time I've used them & it went well.

Are you sure it was Diabetes UK - the charity that hosts this forum, diabetes.org.uk? I think it more likely it was the commercial website diabetes.co uk, which has had adverts for Pharmacy 2U for a while. The name confuses many, but diabetes.co.uk is nothing whatever to do with the charity Diabetes UK.

Interesting, thanks @silentsquirrel . I've informed Diabetes UK and they are looking into it.

Sorry to hear that you've had such difficulty with accessing your prescription through this service @sherryb .

We don't endorse any sort of products or services so it seemed unlikely we would email you about this. I have checked throughout the organisation and we have had not connection or dealing with this company. I think it was likely from a commercial diabetes company rather than ourselves.
It is a good point to address however - the difficulties some people face when living in more remote areas, in accessing your prescription. I will raise this as feedback, perhaps a point of interest for @Stefan Diabetes UK who works in our Diabetes Voices team, who help people raise and campaign for issues that are having an impact either on a local or national level.
