Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hello, I am new to diabetes, was diagnosed T2 about two weeks ago. I'm not on medication but started dieting and cut out all possible sugars and most fats.
For a week now Ive had a headache, sore gums and swollen round the jaw and neck. It isn't agony, just dreary and tiresome. Could be I need to see the dentist, but could it be the diabetes, or my different diet ? or (now I have it!) chocolate withdrawal symptoms?

It doesn't sound like something diabetes related - not that I've heard of anyway. Might it be a wisdom tooth? I think the dentist would be a good port of call. Hope you get to the bottom of it and feel better soon 🙂

Hi Sienna,

I am wondering if you have the nasty bug I have.
Last Friday, I suffered from the worst headache I have ever had (had to call nhs direct as worried) and this then spread to ears, glands, jaw teeth and such a painful neck and shoulders. Have had it 8 days now and only yesterday it broke into a streaming cold. Have found sainsburys all in one cold and flu tablets with decongestant only thing to help. Also a wheat bag on the painful shoulders.

I have felt pretty rough and now have a nasty cough and chest and streaming cold too.

However if you are worried you should always get a headache checked just to be sure.

Hope you feel better soon🙂

thank you both. Yes it is prob. just a winterbug, wisdom teeth things of the past. My head neck and shoulders feel like a boxer's might, the day after a fight (Ive no experience of that really). Glad its not the dreaded D, but I did rather hope someone would advise me
to eat more!
Have a happy Easter. We have snow and rabbits are coming to eat birdseed that drops from the feeders. Poor souls, I put grain on the ground for them so now we'll have rats!
