Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hi ya
my name is susie im 49yrs old, ive been a type 1 diabetic since 1994 sadly i have complications to my eyes with retinopathy and neuropathy. I dont know anyone with diabeties, so I was hoping too meet new friends on here either to chat to via email or snail mail.
I live in hertfordshire, i dont work, but I do enjoy writing articles which ive had published in womens mags one was on diabetes I also enjoy writing stories and drawing and painting dogs. im also a big michael jackson fan. I have 3 dogs they are shelties who I enjoy taking to fun dog shows. I also enjoy reading and watching movies, and reading.

Hi Susie and welcome to the forum. There's loads of new friends for you on here. Type 1's 2's and 1.5's as well as lovely people who care for someone with diabetes. Always something new and interesting to read as well as lots of tips and advice. I look forward to getting to know you better. XXXXX

Hi Susie, welcome to the forum, I am sure you'll find plenty of lovely people on here to chat to. I've only been diagnosed for 4 months, and have found this site a wealth of information and support. From your namesake 🙂

Hi Susie,

I'm new to this site too, but have just started reading through past posts. I'm already really glad to have found it. I've had type 1 for 30 years, since I was 5 and like you have some complications (retinopathy and neuropathy included). How has your journey been along the way? Sounds like you've got your hands full with your 3 furry friends and I imagine it must be great seeing your writing in print! Fab 🙂

Whereabouts in Herts do you live ? I was in Harpenden for 27 years during my marriage to my late (first) husband but now we are in Somerset to be nearer my daughter and grand-daughter.

Looking forward to reading your posts and getting to know you better.
