Pears are one of my favourites Lesley , and thankfully so far causing no problems with numbers ,

Hopefully it doesn't cause you any problems. But if it does, try a smaller pear next time! 🙂

I like to try and keep everything I like in my diet as much as possible. Even if the quantity has to be reduced.

Me too. Tested again this morning, went from 6.3 before to 7.0 1 hour after and down to 6.5 after 2 hours.
 
What about a poached one? I love poached pears.🙂
 
If it does spike a bit, you might like to try it next time after a main meal - the presence of the other food may reduce the impact compared to eating it by itself 🙂
Not tried one yet but will take your advice and have one after my meal
