PCOS is thought to be caused by insulin resistance, so linked to an increased risk of gestational diabetes and type 2 diabetes. Not sure whether there's a link between type 1 or not.

I was diagnosed with PCOS 18 years agao...I was also told along time ago that I had syptoms of being Insulin Resistant, but that was years ago and I never really undertsood the possible implications. I have been Type 2 Diabetic for appox 18 months now. I have read that there is a definate link with PCOS and developing Type 2 Diabetes.
