Well, as this coronavirus started in animals, it's hardly a surprise. As both owners were positive for coronavirus, I think the cat was the victim, not the vector.

But will this result in pets wearing masks? What about zoos?
Cats are easier to make masks for as they are all similar in size, but dogs could pose a problem. Dogs vary considerably in size and would probably require bespoke masks for each breed, plus dogs tend to bark and would require extra space built in to allow for this.

Oh I don’t know, just a modified muzzle surely. I imagine cats to care more about what they look like so will probably require bespoke handmade garments.

I couldn't agree more, cats are more fashion conscious, some more so than others. However, having 9 lives, cats may get lucky and get an exemption on grounds of having whiskers.

The most difficult animals to fit a mask on would, in order of difficulty fitting IMHO be:

1. Giraffe (getting a ladder long enough)
2. Horse (can be long in the mouth)
3. Silverback Ape (risk would outway benefit)
4. Elephant (getting it over the trunk)

If we are discussing mammals, the trickiest must surely be the Blue Whale. No ears, and an enormous gob.
