Hi everyone I was diagnosed approximately 2 years ago so when I saw this new NHS recommended diet for remission I thought that's for me.Sadly I am not eligible as I have liver problems so it's back to the drawing board. Its quite the balancing act between my liver and diabetes

Same as me. I can't deal with either. Just doing low carb again. Liver is proper nasty. 🙄

Welcome to the forum, I hope you made some changes to your diet when diagnosed that was both helpful to managing your blood glucose and not causing more problems with your liver issue.
In case you have been floundering around and obviously depending on the medication you may have been prescribed then you may find that this link will be helpful in finding a suitable menu or meal ideas. https://lowcarbfreshwell.com

Hi @tree23 and welcome to the forum!

I'm sorry to hear you cannot do the NHS recommended diet. Quite a lot of Users on the forum have a few things going on at the same time and you're very right - it does feel like a balancing act. Contradicting diets and advice don't help at all as well... On the plus side, in regards to food, I've noticed more and more websites offer options to select several diets and/or preferences at the same time to narrow down the right foods for you. If you're looking for inspiration, have a look at the food section of the forum or our recipe hub, and similarly - if you find something tasty or curious - please do share!

At diagnosis my waistline had a 'bay window' frontage, and I could not bend over as my liver was hard and pushed out my ribs.
In a year my waist shrank and I could get down to the lower shelves, even pick things off the floor - just by removing high carb foods from my daily intake.
Maybe an analysis of the foods you eat on a daily basis and making substitutions for the high carb foods - I use swede, cauliflower, courgette, cabbage rather than potato or other high starch veges and berries rather than high carb tropical fruits.
