Ok I have a huge opened bag of pasta (weeks old) so need to use it up, ideally. So how much do I have without it shooting up my BG?.
Ive just bought healthy low fat pasta sauce too.

I have bought diet scales btw.

That's a very tough question! A lot of people have trouble with pasta as it often causes a late spike - blood sugars rising long after you might expect (i.e. possibly several hours later 😱) As usual, it will be a case of trial and error and determining what you personally can tolerate and how it affects you by testing. Sorry I can't offer more help! One of the Food experiments was with spaghetti, so it might be worth looking at that to see how pasta affected people there:

Vegan is it shells, tubes or what? If im having pasta I weight out 2 spoonfulls from my large metallic spoon and thats ample for me but I have no issues with pasta so its worth testing to see if it causes you any bother after eating x

Its the bow type. Well I measured 60 grms dry weight, cooked it with small portion of pasta sauce and fried mushrooms and broccoli/onion.

My BG before meal was 8.0 one hour after its 13.1 so all though high, not as high as I thought it would be.

You might want to measure at 2, 3, 4, etc as well. Pasta is notorious for giving delayed spikes.

You might want to experiment with different types of pasta - you might find you can tolerate some better than others.

60g of Farfalle pasta is around 44g Carb, not counting the carbs in the sauce and the broccoli. That's a tad higher then what I would usually eat in the evening (I'm between 30g and 40g total per meal right now).

Some of the low fat sauces are a bit carbohydrate rich too.

Probably a good idea to give away if you have a large pack, but you might want to retain a bit so that you can try again with 30g pasta and 15g pasta to find your limit (replacing the pasta with broccoli/cauliflower, etc).

From experience that 1-hour reading was probably the pasta sauce and not the pasta itself.
