Hello! My name is Jade and I am a Psychology student at Keele University. I am doing my undergraduate dissertation on the impact of glucose monitor engagement on diabetes distress in adults with type 1 diabetes and am looking for participants for my study. I’ve had type 1 diabetes since I was 2 years old which has motivated my interest in researching this area.

The study is all online and it would be really appreciated if you could take a 15 minutes of your time to fill out the survey from the link below.

The criteria for the study includes:
Being aged 18+, have a type 1 diabetes diagnoses of longer than two months, used your current glucose monitor for longer than one month.

There is no pressure to participate but if you fit the criteria and choose to do so, follow the link below. Participation is anonymous.

Thank you for your time 🙂

This has been approved by Mike @everydayupsanddowns. The study is not affiliated with Diabetes UK.

Yes, I too found it a really good questionnaire which enabled you to elaborate with text, rather than just tick boxes or perhaps have to choose between options that aren't entirely appropriate for you, as happens with many questionnaires.

Got to the end. Decided not to submit. Didn’t think my contribution would help somehow. No negative thoughts or anxiety towards the tech I use now. There was also no expansion on the specific tech I incorporate with 3rd party apps & smart watch. Great family, fantastic employers & friends. Just thankful I don’t have to pee on a stick any more. I guess others need more support than I do.

@Satan’s little helper I too don't need any support with my diabetes and find CGM gives me the data I need to manage it well and become the expert in my diabetes management.
Surely my experience and yours is as valid as that of someone who gets overwhelmed by the data and perhaps there are things that can be learned from the likes of you and I and many others here and our positive experience, which can help those who struggle.

It's 100% your decision whether you participate in this study. However, this research is looking at the affects of glucose monitor engagement on diabetes distress. Whether you feel like have positive, negative, or neutral feelings towards how your blood glucose monitor affects your life, any experiences are helpful in research. This allows people to know what's going well with diabetes care and what may need to change

Done
A well designed survey and I particularly liked the inclusion of free text alongside the multiple choice options.
