Parents will soon be able to view their babies in intensive care on an electronic tablet when they cannot be at their bedside.
A pilot project of the high-tech scheme will take place at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, Fife within the next few weeks.
The BabySam technology has been developed by electronics giants Samsung and has been hailed as a "ground-breaking project" with real benefits for parents.
As part of the new system, wireless cameras will be installed near the baby's cot, which is then connected to a Samsung Galaxy Tab electronic tablet.
