Hi our daughter has been diagnosed recently with Type 1 and we are still taking it all in. Hope to be able to vet some advise around here and some handy tips to make our life easier. Christophe

Hi and welcome to the forum, a good choice coming here and I am sure a type 1 will be along to offer specific advice soon. If you have any specific questions, please ask, someone will be able to answer. 🙂

Hi Christoph, welcome to the club no-one wants to join.

There is certainly a lot to take in, but it will get easier, Scout’s honour. Each day, you will be more knowledgeable and experienced than the day before, even if it doesn’t feel like it. There is a lot of experience here, so feel free to take advantage. I have two teenagers with type 1, although they were 6 and 5 when they were diagnosed. Feel free to ask any question you like, and remember, no question is too silly. 🙂

Hello at welcome to the forum, though sorry to hear about your daughter’s diagnosis.

Glad you have found the forum. There are lots of experienced parents here who can share their experiences and answer any questions you have.

Welcome to the forum, no question is silly so don’t be afraid to ask.

Welcome to the forum Christoph.

Sorry to hear about your daughter’s diagnosis. It is indeed a lot to take in at the start
but IT DOES GET EASIER. You will all gradually sort out a new ‘normal life which takes a bit more planning but as your daughter learns to adapt her insulin she will be able to match it to whatever she wants to do.

There is plenty of support available from people on here, and parents who have already gone through what you are experiencing at present. Ask any questions that come to you, and as others have said nothing is considered silly on here, as we do get it, and know how confusing things can be, with so much to take in all at once.

Pleased that you have found this forum.

Hello and welcome. It will take a while to get your heads around everything. Do ask for help, support and advice both on here and from your team. My daughter’s younger but always happy to share my experiences.

Hi my daughter was diagnosed type 1 in August this year a week after her 13th birthday so I'm here if you just need a chat or answer any questions. We can all learn together.x
