The grieving parents of a nine year-old girl who died on Christmas Day last year after a junior doctor sent her home from hospital are campaigning for better care in the NHS.

Gemma and Justin Rawding have been left devastated at the death of young Rhianna who was suffering from septicemia when a junior doctor in the A&E department at University Hospital Lewisham sent her home.

An inquest into the youngster?s death at Southwark Coroner?s Court recorded a narrative verdict.

Relatives of Rhianna that attended the hearing told the Sunday Mercury that the coroner had told them it was highly likely that if Rhianna had been kept in, doctors would have noticed and acted upon her deterioration ? though there was no guarantee she would have survived if she stayed in hospital.
