I hope that I am being paranoid and there is nothing wrong but I've started getting the uncomfortable feeling in my eyes again which I had last year - and each time I was worried within the last year there were major problems, either with the glaucoma or the macula odema. It's just now that I've been through the "easier" treatments for the glaucoma so if this is causing problems again I'm in big trouble. I've made an urget appointment at Boots for 3.30 this afternoon and I'm keeping everything crossed that they will say that it is all ok and there is nothing to worry about

Good luck with the appointment AJ and let us know the outcome as soon as you can.

You will be in my thoughts at 3:30, hope it goes well............🙂

Hi,

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you this afternoon and hope that all goes well for you.

I notice that you take aspirin and came across this article this morning. It may not be relevant but is worth a read. http://medicalxpress.com/news/2011-10-daily-aspirin-intake.html.

This is quite informative too.

Hi Cherrypie thanks very much for the articles. One of my eye consultants wants me to be on daily aspirin because I have a retinal vein occlusion i.e. a blood vessel is blocked which affects my vision (this is in addition to the glaucoma, maculopathy and background retinopathy). I think he wants me to take the aspirin to prevent a blockage from affecting the "good" eye. Retinal vein occlusions commonly don't happen until people are 65 or over - I got mine at 40!!

Good news - although there are problems that I'm aware of with both eyes - and my distance vision has got worse in my "better" eye since March, apart from a new pair of glasses there is nothing that can't wait until my two eye appointments in November........although I was concerned that she could see something close to the macula on my "good" eye......my biggest fear is my macula being damaged in both eyes

You must feel relieved. I think that vein occlusions can clear up. My husband had one about 6 years ago. It was causing blurred vision. His vision seems to have recovered now.

Thanks Margie they initially thought that my vein occlusion would clear up but have since said on several occasions that that it won't. The blurred vision in the left eye has actually got worse this year, probably due to worsening of the maculopathy and odema, and a scan has shown that it is more swollen than two years ago. C'est la vie🙂

I'm glad thee is nothing too worng with your eyes. You did exactly the right thing in getting things checked out.
