A Paradise Valley man who claimed diabetes caused him to lose control of his BMW two years ago and kill a prominent plastic surgeon was convicted Thursday in Maricopa County Superior Court of all but the most serious charge.
The jury acquitted Patrick Nissley, 27, of second-degree murder but found him guilty of the lesser charges of manslaughter, four counts of endangerment and one count of possession and use of narcotics.
Nissley faces up to 21 years in prison on the manslaughter charge when sentenced Oct. 25, according to Arizona statutes.
