Are there other people out there who've become diabetic due to having their pancreas removed?

They are a very new charity and need our support. I've just registered with them and they are very friendly. In fact I've written my story for them as a case study - to show that pancreatic cancer doesn't have to kill you. I gave that particular bullet a body swerve! :D My story will appear online sometime after Christmas.

Wear a purple ribbon for pancreatic cancer. 😎

Sounds like a good plan - but I don't know how to do it - being a newbie!
 
OK, I'll move it for you - anyone can start a thread whereever they like, but only moderators can move threads between sections.

Don't be afraid to ask eg by PMing one or more moderators, for technical advice, if you don't want to psot in public! But, don't worry - we'll only intervene if something is seriously worng / obscene etc, adn I'm confident you wouldn't post anything obscene! 🙂

Had a quick look at this site, I thought Annes Diet was pretty spot on. It sounds as though she has faced similar challenges as me. Her Creon ratios are similar and her carb to novorapid ratio is the same - as mentioned before perhaps you need to agree with your Diabetic Nurse / Consultant that you should start experimenting with the same ratio of 10g carbs equal to 1 unit Novorapid.

It was also interesting to see that like me her blood levels must swing quite dramatically as she mentions both frequent hypos and frequent novo correction doses. I guess its something we will need to live with - the fact that even when you are following the rules our bodies can respond erratically.

I thought the forum looked a little disappointing but I'm comparing it to this forum which is probably not realistic as the potential catchment area for this site is probably hundreds of thousands more and the people on this site probably........... (I'll end that thought there😱)
